Celebration is a town of many homes and apartments. People started moving here in 1996 and purchased homes and apartments through a lottery system. They held the lottery because so many people wanted a place to live here and it had to be fair. It was held at the entrance to what now is Celebration. Downtown Celebration was built before the rest of Celebration so everything was in walking distance. The first family to actually move in was the Habers. They had 2 kids, a mom, a dad, and grandparents living with in their new home. Actually, some of those original residents still live here today because of what Celebration has to offer. Some of Celebration's offerings are the annual Easter Egg Hunt and the Fourth of July Parade.
